Somewhat considered an Expert species, Flame Jellyfish are a species of Rootmouth Jellyfish, with a rounded head and branched tentacles.

Bred on the East Coast of China, Flame Jellyfish (Rhopilema esculentum) are usually despatched in large quantities into the ocean in order to increase stocks within their natural habitat; however they can also be kept as pets.

Unlike Moon or Blue Blubber Jellyfish, Flame Jellyfish have a sting, and so must be handled with care when moving from one tank to another – and as a result, they are also considered a species which requires expert attention.

Brightly coloured, with short branched orange tentacles almost representing tree roots, and a rounded, scalloped head; Flame Jellyfish really are some of the most striking pets you can own.

Flame Jellyfish Size Guide

Our Jellyfish are sold at a young age, therefore offering you the maximum possible lifespan for your fish. We provide young jellyfish which are supplied in the following sizes depending on our stock levels. You do not need to select a size when purchasing. These are:

• ‘Juvenile’ size (roughly 2.5cm (1 inch) in diameter)
• ‘Small’ size (roughly 8cm (3 inches) in diameter).

We do not stock Medium or Large size Jellyfish, but be aware that your fish will of course grow in their lifetime.
